Yoshitora Tokugawa

Yoshitora Tokugawa is a character in the *Samurai Shodown* series, first appearing as the protagonist in *Samurai Shodown V*. He was designed to be different from the previous protagonist Haohmaru, an "elite military genius" with great swordsmanship. Yoshitora is the heir to the shogun, and a former student of Gaoh and Jubei. He is more interested in women and having fun than politics, so he flees his home and refuses to become the next ruler. Gaoh believes Japan will only prosper under Yoshitora's rule, leading him to start a rebellion in hopes of bringing his student back. In the story, Yoshitora eventually acknowledges his responsibilities as the shogun and challenges Haohmaru to join him in building a new country. Yoshitora has seven swords, six of which are named after women, each with unique abilities. If he uses all his special techniques in sequence, he unlocks an extremely powerful attack.
