Gaoh Kyougoku Hinowanokami

Gaoh Kyougoku Hinowanokami, often referred to as Gaoh, is a character in the *Samurai Shodown* series, first appearing as the final boss in *Samurai Shodown V*. He is also one of the final bosses in *Samurai Shodown VI*. Gaoh was once a general of the Tokugawa shogunate, the lord of Hinowa province, and the mentor of Yoshitora Tokugawa. Witnessing the devastation of the Tenmei famine and the shogunate's indifference, Gaoh launched a rebellion. He hoped that this rebellion would force Yoshitora to take on his responsibilities as shogun. Gaoh's design is inspired by Oda Nobunaga and was created by Nobuhiro Watsuki. He wields a large jumonji spear, giving him a long attack range and high damage output in the game. In *Samurai Shodown V*, Gaoh can transform into Kuraki Sumeragi during battles; in *Samurai Shodown VI*, he can transform into Demon Gaoh. He is considered a powerful and threatening character in the game with his firm beliefs and determination to sacrifice for the country.
