Verdot

Verdot, also known as Veld, is a character in the Final Fantasy VII spin-off Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII-, where he serves as the leader of the covert organization the Turks. Within the Shinra Electric Power Company, his official title is "Head of the Department of Administrative Research." Verdot is extremely particular about mission success and unforgiving when it comes to failure. While his severity intimidates many of his subordinates, they deeply respect him. After a disaster in Kalm caused by his own commands, Verdot's family was killed and he lost an arm, which he later replaced with a prosthetic containing Materia, allowing him to continue fighting alongside the Turks. He is referred to as Verdot in Final Fantasy VII 10th Anniversary Ultimania and Final Fantasy VII: On the Way to a Smile, but as Veld in "Reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII Compilation." Verdot is a middle-aged man with brunette hair, a scar on his left cheek, and a prosthetic arm. He wears the standard black suit and tie uniform of the Turks. He is characterized by his belief that the Turks' primary duty is to complete missions, and his loyalty to the organization outweighs his loyalty to Shinra. After learning the truth about his daughter's fate, he reconsiders his life values. Having lost his family, he has adopted a fatherly role in the Turks organization over the young recruits.
