Barret Wallace

Barret Wallace, バレット・ウォーレス, is a major recurring character in the Final Fantasy VII series. He is the leader of the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE and a passionate fighter dedicated to preventing the Shinra Electric Power Company from exploiting Mako energy, which he believes is draining the planet's life force. Barret is a tall, muscular black man, characterized by his right arm, which has been modified into a gun. He deeply cares for his allies and motivates them with powerful speeches. Despite his sometimes brash and violent attitude, Barret has a good heart and is torn between fighting and caring for his adopted daughter, Marlene. He was originally a coal miner who supported the construction of a Mako reactor in his hometown, which led to its destruction and his path of rebellion against Shinra. Barret is a playable character in Final Fantasy VII and its remake and has supporting roles in other titles. His combat style primarily revolves around ranged attacks using his gun-arm, and he possesses high HP, allowing him to absorb damage.
