Elena

Elena (イリーナ) is a recurring character in the Final Fantasy VII series. She is a minor supporting antagonist in the original Final Fantasy VII, but plays an expanded role in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. She also appears in other entries of the extended universe, including Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII- and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Elena is an operative with the Turks unit of the Shinra Electric Power Company's General Affairs division, led by Tseng. She was recruited as Rude's temporary new partner after Reno was injured during the Sector 7 mission. Elena is an enthusiastic and hard-working operative, but she can be careless and lacks a filter. She admires and respects Tseng, and has a crush on him. She is skilled in both hand-to-hand combat and firearms, and is fought as a boss in both Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Her father was an instructor at the Shinra Military Academy, where she was a prodigious student. Before joining the Turks, she worked at a bar and disliked the Turk patrons. She has an older sister, Emma, who was also a Turk. Elena was rescued by the Turks after being kidnapped in Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII-, which motivated her to join the organization.
