Marlene Wallace (マリン・ウォーレス) is a significant non-player character in the Final Fantasy VII series. She is the adopted daughter of Barret Wallace, but is actually the biological daughter of Barret's friends, Dyne and Eleanor. In the original Final Fantasy VII, Marlene is a four-year-old girl who helps out at Tifa's 7th Heaven bar when Tifa goes on AVALANCHE missions with Cloud and Barret. Marlene is portrayed as bright, intelligent, and more mature than her age. She deeply cares for her adoptive father, Barret, and also has a close relationship with Tifa and Aerith. In Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Marlene is six years old, and unlike many other children, is unaffected by Geostigma. She plays a significant role in the story, narrating the events of Final Fantasy VII. Marlene has a special connection to Aerith, able to sense her presence, and also shows compassion and support for Cloud.
