Irvine Kinneas

Irvine Kinneas (アーヴァイン・キニアス) is a playable character in Final Fantasy VIII. He is an elite sharpshooter from Galbadia Garden, known as the "best shooter in Garden". Irvine has long brown hair, worn in a ponytail, a black cowboy hat, a purple vest, a khaki-colored jacket, black fingerless gloves, and brown chaps. He's known for both his remarkable gunmanship and his charm with women. Despite his seemingly carefree attitude, Irvine is actually very sensitive and prone to cracking under pressure. He plays a crucial role in the game, particularly in the mission to assassinate Sorceress Edea. Unlike other main characters, he did not use Guardian Forces (GF), allowing him to retain memories of his time in the orphanage with his companions. This enables him to recall their shared past with Edea, leading to his hesitation during the assassination attempt. He later recognizes that his flippant persona was a façade to mask his insecurities. Throughout the story, Irvine develops feelings for Selphie Tilmitt and strives to help her achieve her dreams.
