Cid Kramer

Cid Kramer, also known as Headmaster Cid, is the headmaster of Balamb Garden and the founder of SeeD in Final Fantasy VIII. He oversees both the school's operations and SeeD activities, though he wishes he had time for other endeavors. Cid is a cheerful and hopeful man who wants SeeD members to think for themselves rather than blindly following orders. He and his wife, Edea, ran an orphanage in Centra, raising many children, including future SeeD members. After receiving a warning from the future, he co-founded SeeD and the Garden with Edea. In the game, Cid does not share this information with the protagonists, appearing as a bumbling headmaster. Nevertheless, he guides the protagonists covertly and eventually hands over command of SeeD to Squall during a critical moment. Cid loves his wife Edea and remained steadfast in his beliefs even after she was manipulated, eventually working with the protagonists to defeat the final antagonist. He is also the creator of the mobile Balamb Garden, a crucial mode of transportation for the party.
