Caraway

Fury Caraway is a non-playable character in Final Fantasy VIII. He is a high-ranking general in the Galbadian army, the husband of the late Julia Heartilly, and the father of Rinoa Heartilly. While not mentioned in the game, the General's first name, Fury, is given in both the Final Fantasy VIII Ultimania and the Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary Ultimania File 1: Character. Caraway is a middle-aged man with graying black hair and a stern demeanor. He wears a black military uniform adorned with medals. Caraway is the epitome of a military man, loyal, strong-willed, and stern, focused on protecting Galbadia's best interests, even if it means opposing the President. His relationship with his daughter, Rinoa, is strained, but he cares for her in his own way. He was married to Julia and had a daughter, Rinoa, but Julia died in a car accident. Afterwards, his relationship with Rinoa became distant. He once plotted to assassinate Sorceress Edea but ultimately failed. Later in the game, he is dismissed from his post, but he still uses his influence to help Rinoa.
