Wedge

In Final Fantasy VIII, Wedge is a non-player character who frequently appears alongside his superior, Biggs. They are a comical duo of Galbadian soldiers who are often encountered by Squall and his party, often getting into humorous situations due to their ineptitude. Wedge typically wears a blue uniform and is Biggs's subordinate, blindly following his orders despite Biggs's recklessness often leading to their demotion. Wedge appears as a minor boss twice in the game alongside Biggs, though they are not difficult to defeat. The pair's interactions serve as comedic highlights throughout the game, and they eventually abandon the military mid-game, becoming one of the few pairs of recurring namesake characters in the Final Fantasy series to survive. Their names are a reference to the characters of the same names from Star Wars.
