Xu

Xu, also known as Shuu in Final Fantasy VIII, is a non-player character. She is a SeeD operative at Balamb Garden, overseeing field exams and later serving as an advisor to Squall Leonhart. Xu is a friend of Quistis Trepe and is implied to be one of the more senior SeeD members at the establishment. She is characterized by her long straight brunette hair and brown eyes and is always seen wearing her SeeD uniform: a black formal suit with gold and red accents. Xu is very serious in her profession, maintaining her composure even when dealing with the belligerent Seifer Almasy or when the Garden faces danger. In the game, Xu is also revealed to be an avid Triple Triad player, being the "Heart" member of the Balamb Garden Card Club, holding the rare level nine card, Carbuncle. After Balamb Garden becomes mobile, Xu assists Squall on the Command Bridge and plays a crucial role in defense and offense. She eventually boards the Ragnarok airship with other Card Club members and survives the time compression.
