Nida

Nida is a non-player character in Final Fantasy VIII. He is one of the four candidates who pass the SeeD field exam alongside Squall, Selphie, and Zell. Although he is not prominently featured in the story, Headmaster Cid Kramer gives him words of encouragement in private. Nida wears a SeeD uniform and has brown hair and blue eyes. He is quiet and dutiful, tending to blend into the background unless he needs to act or speak. Despite this, he is highly skilled, capable of overcoming seemingly stronger opponents and learning to pilot Balamb Garden. He secretly harbors plans to become the leader of Balamb Garden. During the Siege of Dollet, Nida is likely part of the squad in the streets. At the SeeD award ceremony, he is awarded his SeeD ranking alongside the others. During the Garden riot, Nida defends the Infirmary. When Balamb Garden becomes mobile and crashes into Fisherman's Horizon, Nida volunteers to be trained by FH technicians, becoming the Garden's chief navigational officer, working alongside Xu, Quistis and Squall.
