Revolver

In Final Fantasy VIII, the iconic weapon of the protagonist, Squall Leonhart, is the gunblade "Revolver" (リボルバー). It is not a true firearm, but rather a sword with a revolver chamber at the hilt. The chamber's function isn't to fire bullets, but to create a vibration when the trigger is pulled while wielding the blade, thus increasing the attack power. The Revolver is Squall's starting weapon, and although it gets replaced by stronger gunblades later in the game, it remains one of the most recognized weapons in Final Fantasy VIII. Beyond the main game, the Revolver has made guest appearances in other titles within the Final Fantasy series, such as Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy XIV, and Dissidia Final Fantasy, further establishing its iconic status. Its unique design and strong connection to Squall have made the Revolver one of the most representative weapons in the Final Fantasy series. The concept of the gunblade has also influenced many subsequent works, becoming a unique weapon type in games.
