Shear Trigger

The "Shear Trigger," known as "キアストレート" in Japanese, is a recurring weapon in Final Fantasy VIII. It is the second weapon available to Squall Leonhart, obtainable at a junk shop for 200 gil, a Steel Pipe, and 4 Screws. This weapon provides 14 Strength and a 255% Hit Rate. It also grants access to the Rough Divide and is the first weapon to give access to Fated Circle. An improvement over the initial Revolver, the Shear Trigger uses the same blade, but the gun aspect is more powerful. In the game, players need to collect various materials to upgrade and modify weapons. The Shear Trigger, as an early weapon, is relatively easy to obtain and upgrade, providing significant help in early battles. Its repeated appearance throughout the Final Fantasy series highlights its classic design and popularity among players.
