Gauntlet

In Final Fantasy VIII, the "Gauntlet", or "ガントレット", is not a traditional piece of armor or accessory, but rather a unique weapon for the character Zell Dincht. It can be obtained by trading 400 Gil, Dragon Skin, and Fury Fragment at a junk shop, providing 20 Attack and 101% Hit. Unlike in other series entries where Gauntlets typically function as armor or accessories granting defense or stat boosts, in Final Fantasy VIII, the Gauntlet is specifically designed as an offensive weapon for Zell, fitting his martial arts background. The game’s equipment system has been significantly transformed, doing away with traditional armor in favor of the “Junction System,” which links magic to character stats. The Gauntlet’s uniqueness lies in its pure offensive nature and character-exclusivity. It cannot be used by other characters. In addition, the weapon upgrading system in Final Fantasy VIII allows the Gauntlet to be improved further, another unique aspect of the game's weaponry.
