Valiant

In Final Fantasy VIII, the "Valiant" is Irvine's initial weapon. It's not the only weapon in the game, but it's a familiar sight to players early on as Irvine's signature weapon. The Valiant is a customizable and upgradeable rifle, with attributes and performance that change with player progression. Unlike other characters, Irvine primarily uses guns for ranged attacks, which gives him a unique position in combat. The weapon is acquired mainly through information in specific magazines and by using materials such as screws and iron pipes for upgrades. Like other weapons, the Valiant’s performance also impacts Irvine's battle capability. The weapon is called “バリアント” in the Japanese version and “Valiant” in the English version. The Valiant's appearance also reflects the game's encouragement for exploration and discovery in order to upgrade weapons and customize characters.
