Save the Queen

The "Save the Queen" (セイブ・ザ・クイーン) is a recurring weapon in the Final Fantasy series. In Final Fantasy VIII (ファイナルファンタジーVIII), it appears as a whip and is Quistis Trepe's ultimate weapon. This whip is crafted from valuable materials, including Malboro tentacles known for their pliability. In the game, players must gather specific materials, such as Malboro Tentacles, Sharp Spikes, and Energy Crystals, to synthesize this weapon. In the Final Fantasy VIII universe, the "Save the Queen" is considered the most powerful whip in the game and is rumored to have belonged to a young instructor at Balamb Garden. Its uniqueness lies not only in its powerful attack but also in its special acquisition method and role in the character's background story. Furthermore, the "Save the Queen" is not limited to Final Fantasy VIII. It appears in different forms and uses throughout the series, sometimes as a sword, often for powerful female characters or Paladins, and often with defensive properties, but always linked to the concept of “queen” or “protection”.
