Valkyrie

The "Valkyrie" (ヴァルキリー) in Final Fantasy VIII is a recurring weapon in the series, generally classified as a ranged weapon. In Final Fantasy VIII, it is the second obtainable weapon for Rinoa Heartilly. Crafting this weapon requires 200 gil, a Shear Feather, and a Magic Stone. It provides Rinoa with 14 Attack and 101 Hit Rate. The Valkyrie features a unique projectile trajectory, using its stabilizing fins to fly directly at enemies, with an extremely deadly blade. Besides its appearance as Rinoa’s weapon in Final Fantasy VIII, the Valkyrie has also appeared in other Final Fantasy games, such as being a claw-type weapon for Rikku in Final Fantasy X and dual handguns for King in Final Fantasy Type-0. Across the Final Fantasy series, the Valkyrie is often depicted as a weapon with high attack power, frequently evoking imagery of the Valkyries from Norse mythology. Its appearance and attributes vary in different games, but its status as a powerful weapon remains consistent.
