Flail

In Final Fantasy VIII, the "Flail" (フレイル) is a weapon, notably known as the initial weapon for the character Selphie Tilmitt. It is a type of nunchaku weapon, though its design features longer rods than real-world nunchaku. In the game, weapons are enhanced by modifying existing ones, making the Flail a base for upgrades. Early in the game, players can modify it at junk shops using M-Stone Pieces and Bomb Fragments. Although it has a relatively low attack power, its accessibility in the early game and status as Selphie's signature weapon give it special significance within Final Fantasy VIII. It is considered a weapon easy for beginners to use, despite its potentially higher difficulty in actual use.
