Fated Circle

"Fated Circle" is a signature Limit Break for Squall Leonhart in Final Fantasy VIII. It is the second finisher of his Renzokuken, becoming available after obtaining the Shear Trigger or a stronger gunblade. This move is a physical, all-target attack that deals damage based on Squall's Strength stat. In execution, Squall leaps into the air, charges his gunblade, and releases a damaging shockwave that hits all enemies. While it is the weakest of Squall's finishers, its all-target nature makes it more useful against multiple enemies. The damage calculation for Fated Circle takes into account Squall’s Strength and the target's Vitality, and it has a chance to inflict a critical hit. Fated Circle has also reappeared as a signature move for Squall in later Final Fantasy titles, such as in Final Fantasy XIV as a Gunbreaker skill, and in the Dissidia series as a HP attack.
