Angelo Cannon

Angelo Cannon is a signature ability of Rinoa Heartilly in Final Fantasy VIII. It is a Limit Break that randomly activates when Rinoa is at low health or under the effect of "Aura". Unique to this ability, Rinoa launches her pet dog, Angelo, from a firing mechanism on her arm to physically damage enemies. The power of Angelo Cannon depends on Rinoa's Strength stat. It is her default Combine ability, also her Crisis Level 1 Combine Limit Break, and will be used at higher Crisis Levels if other Combine abilities are not learned. As the Crisis Level increases, Angelo will use higher level skills. In addition to being Rinoa's Limit Break, Angelo also appears as an NPC in certain scenes, and new skills can be unlocked by reading Pet Pals magazines. Angelo can also randomly trigger passive skills in battle, such as counterattacking when Rinoa takes direct damage, or healing when a teammate's HP is critical. Angelo Cannon has also appeared in other Final Fantasy titles, such as Dissidia Final Fantasy NT and Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia, where it remains a signature move for Rinoa.
