Dolphin Blow

Dolphin Blow (ドルフィンブロウ) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series, often associated with Tifa Lockhart, notably as her Level 3 Limit Break in Final Fantasy VII. However, in Final Fantasy VIII, Dolphin Blow is one of Zell Dincht's Duel Limit Breaks. While Tifa's version is a jumping uppercut accompanied by a leaping dolphin, Zell's is a powerful uppercut performed after a quick series of button inputs. This skill is not directly visible until the player reads the "Combat King 001" magazine, but it can still be used by inputting the correct button combination even without reading the magazine. Dolphin Blow deals physical damage to an enemy, the damage being based on Zell's Strength stat. Zell's Duel Limit Break system allows the player to chain attacks by quickly inputting commands, and Dolphin Blow is a significant part of his chain attacks, which can do substantial damage when combined with other skills. Dolphin Blow is one of Zell's strongest non-finishing moves; although it requires a four-button input sequence, it is still fast to execute and an effective means of building long chains of attacks.
