Massive Anchor

Massive Anchor (マッシヴアンカ―) is a Limit Break exclusive to Ward Zabac in Final Fantasy VIII. It is a non-elemental physical attack that deals damage to all enemies, with damage scaling based on Ward's Strength stat. This Limit Break has a chance of triggering when Ward is at low health or under the 'Aura' status. When executed, Ward throws his harpoon into the air and rides it down, landing in the middle of enemies and inflicting damage. The move is reminiscent of the Dragoon's 'Jump' ability from the Final Fantasy series. Although Ward is only playable in dream sequences, his Massive Anchor is a powerful move, surpassing even Laguna's Desperado in damage output. Since the damage of this Limit Break is tied to physical attack, equipping magic focused on Strength can maximize its effectiveness. The ability has appeared throughout the Final Fantasy series, but is exclusive to Ward Zabac.
