Ice Strike

Ice Strike (冷徹なる一撃, Reitetsunaru Ichigeki, lit. Cold-Blooded Strike) is a Limit Break associated with Edea Kramer in Final Fantasy VIII. Despite its name and appearance, it is a non-elemental magic attack. Edea conjures magical ice javelins and hurls them at her target, dealing damage based on her Magic stat. Ice Strike can be randomly activated when Edea is at low health or under the effect of the Aura status, and is unaffected by Crisis Level. The skill is prominently featured in a cutscene at the end of the Deling City segment, where Edea uses Ice Strike against Squall. Since Edea is only briefly playable, there aren't many opportunities to use it in gameplay. The damage formula for Ice Strike is: Damage = Magic + 120, making it a potent single-target attack for Edea. While it appears to be ice-elemental, it does not have an ice attribute in the game. This ability has also appeared in other Final Fantasy titles, such as Final Fantasy Record Keeper, where it is one of Edea's Soul Break moves.
