Diablos

Diablos, also known as Diabolos, is an optional boss in Final Fantasy VIII who becomes a Guardian Force upon defeat. In the game, players summon Diablos for battle by using the Magical Lamp, and losing this battle results in a game over. Diablos is a gravity-based Guardian Force, whose signature ability, "Dark Messenger", deals damage based on a percentage of the target's maximum HP. Diablos can learn HP-J, Mag-J, and Hit-J junctions, as well as support abilities to boost HP and magic. It also has unique abilities to reduce random encounter frequency and refine items into magic. In battle, Diablos primarily uses gravity-based attacks which, while powerful, cannot directly kill the party. When Diablos is level 30 or higher, advanced magic such as Holy and Flare can be drawn from it. Diablos has appeared in various forms throughout the Final Fantasy series, but it generally retains its demonic appearance and powerful gravity attacks. As a Guardian Force, Diablos provides powerful support to players in combat.
