Cerberus

Cerberus (ケルベロス) is an optional boss and Guardian Force (GF) in Final Fantasy VIII. This large, three-headed dog is first encountered as an optional boss during the Battle of the Gardens at Galbadia Garden. If missed there, it can be drawn from Gargantua in the final dungeon later in the game. Cerberus is primarily a support GF rather than a damage dealer, bestowing the party with the ability to cast two or three spells in one turn. As a GF, Cerberus learns various helpful skills including speed enhancements, status defense, and auto-haste. In battle, it uses Triple combined with strong elemental spells such as Thundaga, Quake, and Tornado. Players can use Float to defend against Quake and reflect Thundaga. Cerberus also provides the 'Triple' spell, which can be used to enhance the party's abilities. Cerberus has made several appearances as an enemy in other Final Fantasy titles, usually in the form of a three-headed dog. Players can leverage Cerberus's capabilities by drawing Triple from it during battle and eventually acquiring it as a valuable GF.
