Bahamut

Bahamut is an optional Guardian Force (GF) in Final Fantasy VIII, renowned for its powerful non-elemental attack, "Mega Flare." In the game, players must challenge it within the Deep Sea Research Center, overcoming a series of puzzles and battles to acquire it. Bahamut isn't obtained naturally; it must be unlocked through puzzles at a specific location. This GF is a powerful summon in the late game, providing significant stat bonuses and unique abilities such as auto-protect and higher rare item drop rates, and is also the first GF that learns stat+60% abilities. Bahamut's acquisition method is unique and the battle is challenging, requiring players to strategize to defeat and ultimately recruit it. Bahamut is depicted as a large blue dragon who emits energy from its mouth, inspired by the giant whale of the same name in Arabian mythology.
