Silent Voice

"Silent Voice" (サイレントヴォイス) is the signature summon ability of Siren, a Guardian Force in Final Fantasy VIII. It is a non-elemental attack that inflicts damage on all enemies and also silences them. Siren is one of the earliest non-elemental Guardian Forces players can acquire in the game, and her abilities focus on status effects. In addition to "Silent Voice", Siren can learn abilities related to status attack and defense, skills that cure status ailments for allies, and the ability to refine monster drops into status recovery items. Siren has also appeared in other Final Fantasy games, such as in Final Fantasy IX as an enemy skill or in other spin-offs. While Siren's attack power is not particularly high, her ability to inflict silence makes her strategically useful against magic-using enemies. The "Silent Voice" ability also appears in other Final Fantasy titles as an enemy skill or character ability, such as in Final Fantasy XIV and World of Final Fantasy.
