Gatling Gun

The Gatling Gun in Final Fantasy VIII appears primarily in two forms. One is as a character skill, particularly Quistis Trepe's Limit Break. This skill deals physical damage, with damage output depending on her Strength stat and the Crisis Level. The higher the Crisis Level, the more damage it inflicts. Quistis's Gatling Gun is learned by using the 'Running Fire' item, which can be obtained by card modding SAM08G cards. The other is as an ability used by enemies and characters; for example, the SAM08G robot uses Gatling Gun against the player in certain battles. Additionally, 'Gatling Gun' is also a recurring weapon name in the Final Fantasy series, frequently seen with Barret Wallace, although not used as a weapon in Final Fantasy VIII. In the game's lore, the Gatling Gun is an early rapid-fire weapon, featuring a multi-barrel design that aided in cooling and synchronizing the firing and loading sequence.
