Fire Breath

Fire Breath is a Limit Break for Quistis in Final Fantasy VIII, categorized as Blue Magic. This skill deals Fire-elemental magic damage to all enemies, with the damage output scaling based on Quistis' Magic stat and her current Crisis Level. Crisis Level is a hidden mechanic that increases as the party's HP decreases, allies are KO'd, or status ailments are inflicted, thus enhancing the Limit Break’s power. Fire Breath is learned from an Inferno Fang, which can be obtained by defeating or Mugging Ruby Dragons and Hexadragons. Alternatively, 10 Ruby Dragon cards can be transformed into an Inferno Fang through card modification. It's important to note that the Ruby Dragon's breath attack, though similar in name, is a non-elemental physical attack, unlike Quistis' magical Fire Breath. Fire Breath often serves as Quistis' strongest Fire-based attack during mid-game, particularly effective against foes not resistant to fire. As a Limit Break, it bypasses action queues and does not consume spell stocks or require charge time.
