Homing Laser

Homing Laser, or "ホーミングレーザー" in Japanese, is a unique Limit Break ability of the character Quistis Trepe in Final Fantasy VIII. It's a type of "Blue Magic" that Quistis learns by using a specific item called the Laser Cannon. Laser Cannons are primarily obtained as drops from the late-game boss Mobile Type 8, with a low drop rate from Belhelmel enemies at level 30 or higher, and they can also be stolen from Elastoid enemies at level 30 or higher. The power of Homing Laser depends on Quistis's magic stat and her current Crisis Level. The higher the Crisis Level, the greater the damage. Crisis Level is a hidden stat affected by factors such as current HP, dead allies, and status ailments. The Aura spell can increase it. Unlike other Limit Breaks, Homing Laser is a single-target magic attack, dealing non-elemental damage. While Quistis has many Blue Magic spells, Homing Laser stands out as a powerful and useful ability in the mid-to-late game due to its high damage potential.
