Shockwave Pulsar

"Shockwave Pulsar" is Quistis' ultimate Blue Magic ability in Final Fantasy VIII, dealing non-elemental magic damage to all enemies, with the damage scaling based on Quistis' Magic stat and the current Crisis Level. This ability is notable for breaking the damage limit in the game, allowing for very high damage output. Players learn this ability by using a "Dark Matter" item on Quistis, which is crafted by using the "Tool-RF" ability on 100 "Curse Spikes". Crisis Level, a hidden stat, is determined by the party's current HP, dead allies and ailments; a higher Crisis Level results in greater damage for Shockwave Pulsar. It is Quistis’ most powerful Blue Magic and is one of the few attacks that can exceed the normal damage cap. Furthermore, some final bosses will also use Shockwave Pulsar as a powerful attack.
