Meteor

In *Final Fantasy VIII*, Meteor (メテオ) is a powerful non-elemental magic attack. It damages random enemies at ten separate intervals, and it becomes the most damaging spell against single targets like bosses. Meteor is also highly valued for junctioning, providing the second-highest boost to Strength and the third-highest boost to HP. This makes it an ideal choice for enhancing character stats. Players can obtain Meteor by drawing it from high-level monsters or by refining Meteor Stone and Star Fragment using Bahamut's Forbid Mag-RF ability. It can also be acquired through specific quest events. In battle, apart from casting it through the Magic command, Meteor can also be used through Selphie's Slot Limit Break or Rinoa's Angel Wing Limit Break. Due to its rarity and its potent stat boosts, most players choose to junction Meteor to stats rather than cast it directly. Additionally, certain enemies in the game also use Meteor against the player's party, which can only be defended against through Shell magic and high Spirit stats.
