Antidote

In Final Fantasy VIII, the "Antidote," or Japanese "Dokukeshi," is a crucial item used to cure the Poison status effect. Poison inflicts damage over time, making Antidotes essential for players during battles. Antidotes can be purchased from shops throughout the game and can also be refined from certain items. For example, Poison Powder and Venom Fang can both be refined into Antidotes. Players can also find them on the map or obtain them through events, and sometimes even through the Chocobo World mini-game. Besides direct use, Antidotes are also used for magic refining, converting them into Bio spells. In some cases, they can also be synthesized with other items to create new ones. As an important item for healing poison, Antidotes are helpful from the early to late game. In the early parts of the game, they are more useful than the Poisona spell because they consume fewer resources.
