Phoenix Spirit

Original Title:フェニックスの魂

Languages:

  • Chinese: 不死鸟之魂
  • Japanese: フェニックスの魂
  • English: Phoenix Spirit
In Final Fantasy VIII, the Phoenix Spirit is an important item, not a direct summon but a usable object. When players use a Phoenix Spirit, it triggers the summoning of Phoenix, which attacks all enemies with fire and revives all fallen party members, restoring 12.5% of their max HP. The Phoenix summon is activated by consuming a Phoenix Pinion item. After being summoned once, it has a chance to randomly appear when all party members are knocked out, saving the player from a game over. Phoenix is depicted as a colossal flame-colored bird with red wingtips and flame-like plumage. Phoenix Pinions can be obtained in various ways, including from specific enemies, completing side quests, or through item refining. Phoenix Spirit is also used for item refining to create other useful items. Additionally, Phoenix appears as a card in the "Triple Triad" mini-game in Final Fantasy VIII, which can be used for playing and refining. The appearance of Phoenix provides battle support and a certain degree of randomness, making the game more challenging.
