Orihalcon

In Final Fantasy VIII, Orichalcum (オリハルコン), is a rare item that plays an important role in the game. It is not used directly in battle, but as an item that enhances the abilities of Guardian Forces (GF). Specifically, using Orichalcum allows any GF to learn the "Vit+40%" ability, which increases their vitality by 40%. Players can obtain Orichalcum in a variety of ways, primarily: as a drop from Adamantoise, or by refining 10 Vit-J Scrolls into one Orichalcum using Eden's GFAbl Med-RF ability. Additionally, Orichalcum itself can be refined into Protect Stones using Siren's Tool-RF ability. Therefore, Orichalcum not only directly increases the attributes of GFs but can also be converted into other items, reflecting the game’s complex and interesting item system. The introduction of this item encourages players to actively explore the game world and try different ways of synthesizing and using items, thereby enhancing the game’s playability and depth. Orichalcum’s rarity and effectiveness have also made it a sought-after item for players to pursue and collect.
