Knight's Code

In Final Fantasy VIII, the Knight's Code (ナイトの心得) is a significant item, not as equipment but as an item used to teach Guardian Forces (GF) the "Cover" ability. This ability allows the GF's wielder to take damage on behalf of a teammate in critical condition. The primary way to obtain the Knight's Code is through item refinement, using 5 "Holy Wars" to refine one "Knight's Code". It can also be obtained via the Chocobo World minigame. The refined Knight's Code can also be further refined into "Vit Up". In the game, proper use of the Knight's Code can enhance the team's survivability, particularly when facing strong enemies. The Knight's Code has also appeared in other Final Fantasy games, usually in different forms, such as equipment, accessories, or skills.
