Malboro Tentacle

The Malboro Tentacle (モルボルの触手) is a recurring item in Final Fantasy VIII, primarily obtained from the Malboro enemy. This item has multiple uses in the game, including being a material for upgrades, magic refinement, and crafting other items. In Final Fantasy VIII, it's most notably used to teach Quistis the Blue Magic "Bad Breath" and is a required material for obtaining the Doomtrain Guardian Force. Additionally, the Malboro Tentacle is needed to upgrade Quistis' ultimate weapon, Save the Queen. Players can also obtain Malboro Tentacles through card modification, making it an important resource in the late game. Its English version name sometimes refers to "Malboro Vine", emphasizing its plant-like rather than animal-like nature.
