Dead Spirit

In Final Fantasy VIII, the "Dead Spirit" (死者の魂) is a rare item primarily used for magic refinement and item refinement. It cannot be purchased directly and can only be obtained by defeating specific monsters (like Garkimasera and Life Fobidden), stealing from Life Fobidden, or transforming Odin's Card. Players can refine powerful Death spells (デス) or Death Stones (デスストーン) using "Dead Spirit." Due to Final Fantasy VIII's unique Junction system, these spells can be junctioned to characters' stats to enhance their abilities. Although the "Dead Spirit" itself cannot be used as equipment, it plays a significant role in enhancing character stats and combat power later in the game. Additionally, it is related to certain aspects of the game; for instance, the GF Siren that you obtain early in the game can perform magic refinement and item refinement using this item. The Dead Spirit is a vital resource in the game, and using it wisely can greatly improve battle efficiency.
