Luck-J

Luck-J, also known as 'Luck Junction', is a unique ability in Final Fantasy VIII. When a character is junctioned with a Guardian Force that has mastered Luck-J, they can link magic to their Luck stat. This connection enhances the character's evasion rate, hit rate, and critical hit rate. Since Squall's hit rate is perfect, and his critical hits are manually triggered, Luck-J provides less benefit to him. Typically, the Cactuar Guardian Force can learn Luck-J, or it can be taught to other GFs using the Luck-J Scroll item. Luck-J can generally improve a character's performance in battle, but it's not essential. The best spell to junction to Luck is "Ultima."
