Recover

In Final Fantasy VIII, "Recover" (かいふく) is a command ability that fully restores a single target's HP in battle, equivalent to using an X-Potion without consuming resources. This ability can also inflict damage on undead or zombified enemies, instantly defeating them if their remaining HP is below 9,999. "Recover" is learned by the Guardian Force Leviathan for 200 AP. Additionally, it can be taught to other Guardian Forces using the Healing Ring item. Leviathan is acquired by drawing from NORG and Trauma, while the Healing Ring is a rare find through Angelo Search or can be crafted with 100 Whispers (from Adamantoises) using Eden's GFAbl Med-RF ability. Although X-Potions become available in shops later in the game, "Recover" is a convenient skill to maintain combat strength early on or when resources are scarce. Notably, a character equipped with "Recover" will not use it while confused.
