Str Bonus

In Final Fantasy VIII, "Str Bonus" is a support ability that permanently boosts the Strength stat when a character levels up. When equipped, the character receives an additional Strength bonus each time they level up. This is particularly useful for players aiming to maximize their characters' Strength or for level grinding to achieve a higher maximum Strength. Even without using Strength junctions, equipping "Str Bonus" can help characters reach higher Strength values. This ability is learned by the Guardian Forces Ifrit and Cactuar. Ifrit is obtained at the tutorial dungeon at the start of the game, and can learn "Str Bonus" for 100 AP after mastering "Str+40%". Cactuar is recruited by defeating Jumbo Cactuar on Cactuar Island and already has all stat bonus abilities learned. "Str Bonus" is especially beneficial for characters like Squall, Zell, and Irvine for their Limit Breaks and also enhances normal attack damage. The maximum Strength value is 255, achievable through Strength junctions and percentage increases, but using "Str Bonus" can reduce the need for specific or high-level magic. If this ability is removed using Amnesia Greens, it cannot be reacquired.
