Auto-Reflect

In Final Fantasy VIII, Auto-Reflect is a support ability that grants a permanent Reflect status to the character. When equipped, most magic attacks will be reflected back to the enemy, but at the same time, the user also cannot benefit from healing or buff spells. This status cannot be dispelled and will persist even if the character is knocked out and revived. In Final Fantasy VIII, Auto-Reflect can be obtained by having the Guardian Force Carbuncle learn it for 250 AP. It can also be taught to any other Guardian Force using the Glow Curtain item, which is crafted by refining 100 Dragon Skins using Eden's GFAbl Med-RF ability. In combat, Reflect status can also be obtained by summoning Carbuncle. However, the advantage of Auto-Reflect lies in its permanent and non-dispellable nature, making characters more strategic in battle. When using it, it is necessary to be careful not to reflect beneficial spells onto enemies.
