Auto-Potion

Auto-Potion is a recurring support ability in the Final Fantasy series. When equipped, the unit automatically uses a Potion to heal itself upon taking damage. In Final Fantasy VIII, Auto-Potion can be learned from the Guardian Forces Leviathan, Cactuar, and Tonberry for 150 AP. When a character's HP is below half, they will automatically use the weakest single-target healing item in the inventory when damaged, such as Potions, Hi-Potions, X-Potions, and Elixirs. In Final Fantasy IX, every permanent party member can learn Auto-Potion, which costs 3 Magic Stones to equip, using a Potion or Hi-Potion to heal upon taking damage. In the 3D version of Final Fantasy IV, Auto-Potion appears as an Augment. In Final Fantasy XV, accessories like Field Medicine and Good Chamberlain have Auto-Potion effects, automatically using potions and hi-potions when Noctis and Ignis respectively drop below half health.
