Return Damage

In Final Fantasy VIII, "Return Damage" is a unique support ability. It's not learned natively by any Guardian Force (GF); instead, it must be learned from the item "Hundred Needles." To obtain Hundred Needles, you need to refine 100 Cactus Thorns using Eden's GFAbl Med-RF ability. When equipped, "Return Damage" reflects a quarter of the damage taken back to the attacker as fixed damage, ignoring the enemy's defenses. This ability stacks with other reaction abilities like "Counter," but only triggers when damage is actually received, not when an attack is evaded or inflicts zero damage. While Return Damage can provide additional damage output in battles, it's usually acquired late in the game, by which time players may have more powerful support abilities available.
