Expend×2-1

In Final Fantasy VIII, "Expendx2-1" or "ダブル消費1" is a character ability that allows a character to consume only one stock of magic when casting spells under the "Double" status, instead of the usual two. This ability is learned from specific Guardian Forces (GFs), requiring 250 Ability Points (AP). GFs capable of learning this ability include Cerberus (requires level 30), Cactuar (requires mastering Eva+30%), and Bahamut. Additionally, if "Expendx2-1" is removed using "Amnesia Greens", it cannot be regained. It allows players to use their magic reserves more efficiently when using double magic. While the skill consumes less magic, it might not be the most practical ability to use, as magic stocks can be replenished through refining and other means, or using limit breaks. Overall, Expendx2-1 is an interesting mechanic in Final Fantasy VIII, not essential, but it gives players another option.
