Tool-RF

Tool-RF, also known as Tool Refiner, is a menu ability in Final Fantasy VIII. It allows players to create various utility items from existing ones, such as spell stones, Tents, and Cottages. This ability is notable for making Phoenix Pinions, necessary for summoning the Phoenix, and Dark Matters, required for Quistis's ultimate Limit Break, Shockwave Pulsar. The Guardian Force Siren learns Tool-RF for 30 AP. Siren can be drawn from Elvoret during the Siege of Dollet or from Tri-Point in the final dungeon. If the player removes Tool-RF with Amnesia Greens, it cannot be regained. In earlier versions, Siren needed to be level 100 to create Dark Matter using Tool-RF, but this is no longer required in PC and Remastered versions. Using Tool-RF in the Ability menu allows you to create up to 100 of the same item type. Besides Dark Matter and Phoenix Pinions, Tool-RF can also make various battle items like spell stones and the Shaman Stone, which enhances compatibility with Bahamut. This ability is useful for crafting powerful items for use in battle such as Aura Stones, which can be used directly for the 'Aura' status or converted to 'Aura' spells using Leviathan's 'Supt Mag-RF' ability. By gathering specific items, like Power Wrists bought in Esthar City, you can produce large amounts of Aura Stones. Also, Tool-RF transforms Mega Phoenix into Phoenix Pinions, which summons Phoenix to revive KO'd party members and damage enemies.
