GFRecov Med-RF

GFRecov Med-RF (GF Recovery Medicine Refiner) is a menu ability in Final Fantasy VIII that allows the player to create items that heal and revive Guardian Forces (GF) using other items. Guardian Forces are summoned entities in battle, and can be defeated or depleted of HP in combat. GFRecov Med-RF is used to restore their health effectively. This ability is learned by the Guardian Force Leviathan for 30 AP after mastering Supt Mag-RF. Leviathan can be drawn from a boss on Balamb Garden's B2 floor or from Trauma in the final dungeon. It should be noted that once this skill is forgotten with Amnesia Greens, there is no way to relearn it. Using GFRecov Med-RF, players can make up to 100 of the same GF recovery item. In the early game, the skill is less significant, as the damage of regular attacks quickly outpaces GF summon damage, but later, when players desire to summon high-damage GFs like Eden or status-inflicting GFs like Doomtrain, this ability can be useful. Alternatively, GFs can be passively healed by walking on the field or summoning MiniMog. Nonetheless, GFRecov Med-RF is an important skill in Final Fantasy VIII.
