Hi Mag-RF

High Mag-RF, or "High-Level Magic Refine", in Final Fantasy VIII is a crucial menu ability that allows players to refine mid-tier spells (such as -ra spells) into high-tier spells (such as -ga spells), as well as converting Double spells into Triple spells. While the conversion rate is not ideal, high-tier spells are significantly more powerful than mid-tier ones. This ability does not create ultimate spells such as Ultima, Meteor, Flare, or Holy. The Guardian Force Alexander learns this ability for 60 AP. Alexander can be drawn from the boss at the end of the Battle of the Gardens segment or from Catoblepas in the final dungeon. Once removed using Amnesia Greens, it cannot be re-acquired. High Mag-RF is particularly useful for converting Double into Triple spells, which are difficult to obtain otherwise. Despite other methods of obtaining some high-level spells, such as Tornado from Windmills and Thundaga from Dynamo Stones, High Mag-RF remains a valuable skill to master. The refining system is essential in Final Fantasy VIII for creating spells and items that are difficult or impossible to obtain otherwise.
