Edea's House is a significant location in Final Fantasy VIII, situated on the shore of the southernmost peninsula of the Centra continent, near a lighthouse. In the game, it is a large white stone house, but it lies in ruins in the game's present timeline. Edea's House was once an orphanage, where many of the children who grew up there later became students at various Gardens around the world. This location plays a crucial role in the game's plot, serving as a key site for the protagonists' childhood memories. Although it can be visited early in the game, the protagonist, Squall, initially refuses to enter, deeming it irrelevant. As the story progresses, Edea's House becomes linked to the game's primary antagonist, the sorceress Ultimecia, as well as the sorceress Edea herself. After being controlled by Ultimecia, Edea fought the protagonists there. Later, Edea was freed from Ultimecia’s control and returned to live at Edea's House with her husband, Cid. It's also the location where Squall and Rinoa promise to meet again, holding great emotional significance in the game.
